Covid Vaccination Update – 21st April 2021

In the next few weeks, most of the vaccine delivery we will be getting at the fire station is supplied for second doses. Until the middle of May, we are expecting relatively small amounts of vaccine to be available for first doses. We will however be continuing to provide 2nd vaccinations as patients reach the 10-12 week point following their 1st vaccination.

If you are aged 45-50, and would like a first vaccine, you can still use the national booking system to book an appointment in Malvern, Bristol, or at one of the pharmacy sites in Gloucestershire.

If you would prefer to wait until the middle to end of May, and have your first dose at the fire station, that’s fine – we will be inviting people in as quickly as we have the vaccine available to give them. Please do not contact the practice or our booking line until you have been invited to do so. Our practice team need to prioritise handing calls for patients who require appointments for acute or chronic conditions. The booking team are working incredibly hard to get everyone through the system, and booked in and that needs to be their main focus.

There has been a huge amount of work involved in getting to this stage, and we remain very grateful for all the support we have had from the community. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in volunteering to help marshall at the fire station, please contact the practice via the website, and we can put you in touch with the volunteer co-ordinator.

We would like to thank all the volunteers, the firefighters, the admin and support staff, the practice managers, nurses, pharmacists, doctors, and everyone else who has been so vital in getting us this far. We couldn’t do it without you all!
