Nurses
We have four practice nurses, who perform general nursing duties including wound and leg ulcer management, immunisations, taking cervical smears, managing minor illness conditions and running specialised clinics, and nursing healthcare assistant (HCA) who takes blood pressures, does blood tests, some injections, ECGs, dermoscopy, and runs the INR and cardiovascular screening clinics. We also have a phlebotomist who takes blood tests.
Nurse Kathryn Ashmore
Female
Kathryn has been with Stoke Road Surgery since 2019. She is our lead for the nursing team. She has a specialist qualification in both Diabetes and Asthma, and also undertakes CHD and heart failure reviews as well as general nursing duties.
Nurse Sara Jones
Female
Sara joined Stoke Road Surgery in 2021, having previously worked at the hospital. Sara is the learning disabilities lead for the nursing team. She works alongside Kathryn as a diabetic nurse as well as general nursing duties.
Nurse Chloe Fletcher
Female
Chloe joined the practice in early 2023, as well as general nursing duties she has an interest in respiratory conditions management. Chloe mentors student nurses, encouraging the next generation of nurses into primary care.
Nurse Hannah Murphy
Female
Hannah joined Stoke Road Surgery in late 2022 after previously working in the hospital. As well as general nursing duties Hannah is the lead for dementia management within the nurse team.
Rachel Camm
Female healthcare assistant
Rachel is a very experienced healthcare assistant, who joined Stoke Road Surgery from the district nursing team in 2012. Her special interests are in leg ulcer and wound management and health promotion. She is also trained to assist in minor surgery clinics, as well as general HCA duties.
Anita Cunningham
Female healthcare assistant / phlebotomist
Anita has been with Stoke Road Surgery since June 2024. She works in a dual role as a Phlebotomist and as a Health Care assistant. Anita has experience working in the community, in general practice and in the hospital. She carries out a range of treatment room procedures.
Community nurses
The district nurse team provides care at home for those patients unable to attend the surgery. The direct phone number is 0300 421 6070 If the district nurses are out visiting patients, you can leave your name and contact number and a member of the team will contact you.
Health visitors
Health visitors provide care for the under fives and their families. The direct phone number is 0300 421 6166. There is also a school nurse and she can be contacted on 0300 421 6161.
